I got permission from St Cloud mining to get into the area as well as the tunnels. We were 1800 feet back in a tunnel and collected some great azurite wulfenite Chalcopyrite as well as other specimens. The pieces you have are from the Ballard mine which is in the same group of mines as the 85. The area is closed to collecting and is not operating except for a gravel operation. I was able to get in because I am friends with the VP of St Cloud. I wish I could show you some of the other specimens I have from New Mexico as the Ballard stuff is way below average as far as specimens are concerned. The Ballard is completely in tact even the log books from the old days back to the 1920s are still there and are a real treat to sit down and read. We were fortunate to gain access and did collect some great specimens. BETDAV97@aol.com wrote: > Hi list, recieved some minerals from the #85 Mine in Lordsburg, > New Mexico, a couple of weeks ago.
