Martin II" Subject: San Benito Co. (CA) Collecting Anyone? California mineral collectors, If this were the personals page of your local newspaper the ad would read something like this. Tall, somewhat overweight 50ish MWR (married, white, rockhound) seeks collecting companion(s) for one day adventure into the wilds of San Benito County searching for well crystallized mineral specimens. Will supply 4WD vehicle and general idea of mineral localities to be explored but no guarantees of success. Respondents should enjoy bumpy roads, digging in dirt , breaking hard rock and sweating profusely. No commitment to a long term relationship is required. Seriously though -- This Friday, 26 May, I will be venturing into the clear creek area of San Benito County, California to try to find the artinite pit and/or Perovskite Peak to do some collecting. I have never been to this area before but have tried to do my homework and by combining information from the MASMILS CD, various web sites, and the excellent Rocks and Minerals article on the area (plus some general advice from John Veevaert) I think I have a fair idea of where to head for. I will be driving down from my son's house in Burlingame early Friday morning and intend to stop at the BLM office in Hollister, CA when it opens at 7:30 AM to pick up BLM maps of the area. If anyone is interested in accompanying me please respond immediately by email to see if something can be arranged. I am definitely going with or without someone along but it is always fun to meet other collectors - hence I am extending this invitation. Let me know right away if interested. Time is growing short. Best regards, Nate Martin visiting CA from Lexington, MA P.S. - my apologies to those of you who are on both the LARocks and rockhoundz mailing list for the duplicate messages. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 24 May 2000 21:35:44 -0700 From: "Kemp LaMunyon" Subject: Yahoo chat (voice) Has anyone been playing with the voice part of Yahoo?
