Ferrier, after whom the zeolite ferrierite has been named. A photo appeared in The Mineralogical Record 3(5) (1972). I started my subscription only two years later, unfortunately, so I don't have it at hand. If anyone could provide me with a scan in a reasonable resolution (max. 200 kB please) I would be very glad. If I would use it for publication in our magazine Geonieuws I would, of course, first request permission from the editors of The Mineralogical Record. Any other photograph of Walter Ferrier would also be welcome if there is any chance of obtaining permission from the owner to re-publish it (locally). We were there digging sapphires at the Gem Mountain Mine, about 18 miles west of Phillipsburg. We left 22 carats of stones that we dug up with the Sapphire Gallery to heat and facet for us. The store is a really neat place to visit and see what they have to offer but the mine itself is a must for gravel, concentrate or digging your own. This is the second year that we have dug there and it is a lot of work and fun. We also spent time at Yellowstone. Hope this helps you.
