We use it in construction sometimes to dry out and strengthen extremely wet soils. Since it's almost pure silica, it can be a hazard (silicosis) when airborne, in large quantities over a long period of time. That's why you see the miners at the diatomite pits in half-mask APRs. Hi Dan - I'm not = sure if=20 its exactly the same or not - but its definately white powdery stuff. If = the=20 ingredients are only diatomatious earth - then it should be the same. I = put=20 about a half cup to my 12 pound tumbler.
