Here's what's new: New Specimens I've returned from Tucson with tons of new specimens, including many new Brazilian pieces, along with specimens from China and other worldwide localities. Take a special look at the rare Milarite pieces on our pages. All are in the New Arrivals Galleries, accessible from any entry page on the site. Site Redesign I've completed a total redesign of the OsoSoft Mineral Connection, from the index pages to the way specimens are presented. The new index pages are designed to help you find the many features of the site quickly, and I've switched to a gallery-style presentation of specimens, with fewer specimens per page for faster loading. Reduced Prices Lots of specimens have been moved to our Sale pages and to our Liquidation Sale pages. Lots of great bargains. Regular Features Be sure to visit our free information pages. You'll find articles on mineral collection, a comprehensive list of mineral dealers throughout the USA, a full list of mineral museums and mineral exhibits in the USA, plus links pages full of helpful links to other sites. I have several tons of rough that I am going to sell at bargain prices. Most of it will go for about 75 cents per pound unless it is something special. I have agate of all sorts, Brazilian Agates, petrified wood, geodes, jaspers, quartz and much more. Also, I have for sale at the present time the following equipment; 1 Nelson Machine Works (Portland, Oregon) 24" lapidary saw. This saw has a screw gear rock transport system. The blade is in good condition and everything works good. The cover does not fit extremely well and the belts need replacing. I am asking $1800.00 (obo). The purchaser will have to come and pick this saw up and bring along at least 4 stout people to lift it. I am unable to do heavy lifting. 2. ROC 18" lapidary saw. This saw has an "air over hydraulic" rock transport system. This makes the transport speed infinitely adjustable. This saw is in excellent condition in all respects. I am asking $1000.00 (obo). Again this saw is very heavy and will take 4 people to lift it. 3. Richardson Ranch Vertical Grinder with all the attachments and grinding disks. The grinder is in good to perfect condition. I am asking $500.00 (obo). 4. 15" Vibrating Lap with two pans, polishing pad, and ring for the inside of the pans. It looks like it has never been used. I am asking $250.00 (obo). Contact me via e-mail for further information and to set an appointment to see the equipment and rough. - --------------020207050609090707090604 Content-Type: text/html; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit The time has come to start selling off my equipment and rough material.  I have several tons of rough that I am going to sell at bargain prices.  Most of it will go for  about 75 cents per pound unless it is something special. Even cabbing charoite can make you crazy. I have some very good quality charoite and it still will suddenly chip while I'm working with it. I bought a 5" five pound sphere of "Ocean Jasper" (the orbicular jasper coming from Madagascar) for $61 today in Tucson. The sphere was a bit lighter than normal due to the amount of druse exposed. Eugene Mueller of The Gem Shop, the exporter of the legitimate rough (there is a lot of stolen material around) is contractually obligated to sell the rough for $25 per pound while there are folks selling well polished A+ material spheres for $12 per pound. The folks in Madagascar must be paid in sand. This sphere took a while to cut. On a side note, I could not find much good rutilated quartz in Tucson this year. One Brazilian dealer who almost always has good rutilated quartz said the Chinese are coming to Brazil and purchasing most of the rutilated material. The only stuff getting to Tucson is in the form of polished quartz points containing rutile.
